Safety

Last updated: May 10, 2026

A few simple habits make in-person meetings safer. Read this before meeting anyone you have spoken to on Lectella.

1. Meet in public

First meetings should always be in a public place, during normal hours, in an area you know or can easily research.

2. Tell someone

Tell a friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting and when you expect to be back. Share your location with them while you are there.

3. Keep control of your transport

Arrive and leave under your own arrangements. Do not rely on the other person for transport, accommodation or money.

4. Do not send money

Never send money, gifts, loans, cryptocurrency, investments or travel funding to anyone you have met on Lectella. Genuine connections do not require financial support.

5. Protect your financial information

Do not share bank details, card numbers, passwords, government identifiers, or screenshots that contain any of those.

6. Be cautious of off-platform pressure

Be careful with anyone who pushes hard to move conversations to other apps quickly, refuses video, avoids meeting in person, or escalates emotional intensity unusually fast.

7. Report concerns

If something feels wrong, use Report a Profile or write to support@lectella.com. Reports are confidential. We review every report; we do not guarantee any specific outcome.

8. Emergency

Lectella cannot provide emergency assistance. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. In the United States, dial 911.

9. New York Safety Notice

If you are using Lectella in New York, please review these safety points before communicating with anyone you meet here.

10. Fraud bans

If we determine that a member has engaged in fraud, we may permanently ban that member. Where required by law, we will notify certain New York members who have exchanged messages with that member, within the time and in the form required by law. Use Report a Profile if anything you have seen looks like fraud.
