1. About Lectella

Lectella is a meeting-first membership platform for adults. Our community is focused on New York City, and members in other locations may find fewer people nearby. Lectella provides software, profiles, messaging and curation. Lectella does not arrange meetings, does not introduce specific people, and does not guarantee replies, meetings, dates, relationships, intimacy or any other outcome.

2. Who can use Lectella

Lectella is for adults aged 18 or older. By using Lectella, you confirm that you are at least 18, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you are using Lectella for genuine social purposes.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account, your password and the activity that takes place under your account. You agree to keep your information current, to use your real identity, and to upload current photographs of yourself. Sharing your account with anyone else is not permitted.

4. Membership, Invite Packs and payment

Lectella is free to join and browse. A Membership is required to send Invitations to Meet and to open and respond to invitations you receive. Declining, blocking and reporting are free.

Membership is available as a 1 Week, 1 Month or 3 Months plan. On the US App Store these plans cost $19.99, $39.99 and $89.99. Optional Invite Packs add invitations for members: 3 invitations for $9.99, 10 invitations for $29.99 and 25 invitations for $59.99 on the US App Store. You are never required to buy an Invite Pack. The price that applies to you, in your local currency, is shown by the App Store before you confirm a purchase.

Purchases are made in the Lectella app through the Apple App Store, and the store processes your payment. Lectella does not receive your full payment-card number. We do not offer payment through this website.

5. Auto-renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price you agreed to, until you turn off automatic renewal. If you start a free trial, your paid subscription begins automatically when the trial ends unless you turn off renewal before then.

To turn off automatic renewal, use the subscription settings of the store where you purchased. For Apple purchases, use your Apple Account subscription settings. In the Lectella app, Settings › Membership › Manage subscription opens the correct page. Uninstalling the app or deleting your Lectella account does not cancel a subscription.

After you turn off renewal, you normally keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund partial periods except where required by law, including the New York three-business-day cancellation right described in our Subscription and Cancellation Policy.

6. No guarantee of outcomes

Lectella is a platform. Whether you receive replies, meet anyone, or form any kind of connection depends on you and on other members. We do not guarantee, and cannot guarantee, any social or romantic outcome.

7. Your responsibility for meetings

You decide whether to communicate with another member, whether to meet in person, where to meet, and how to behave during any meeting. You are solely responsible for your interactions and for your safety. We strongly encourage you to read our Safety page before meeting anyone.

8. Prohibited conduct

To keep Lectella safe and lawful, you agree not to use the platform for any of the following:

• Commercial sexual activity of any kind, including escorting, prostitution, sex work, sugar arrangements, paid intimacy, paid companionship and any adult or sexual services.
• Sharing, requesting or soliciting pornographic, sexually explicit or graphic material.
• Asking for or sending money, gifts, loans, cryptocurrency, investments, travel funding or anything of value.
• Scams, fraud, romance scams, phishing, money-mule activity or impersonation.
• Fake profiles, identity misrepresentation, photos that are not of you, or photos that are not current.
• Harassment, abuse, hate speech, threats, stalking or non-consensual sharing of intimate content.
• Any use by anyone under the age of 18.
• Bots, scraping, automated access, data harvesting or commercial exploitation of the service or its members.
• Use of Lectella for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

These prohibitions are absolute. Violations may result in suspension or permanent termination without refund.

9. Moderation

We may review profiles, photos and messages, in line with our Privacy Policy. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate any account that we believe violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We are not obliged to publish or carry any content.

10. Suspension, termination and refunds

If your account is suspended or terminated for a material violation of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, you are not entitled to a refund. The New York three-business-day cancellation right and any other right required by law continues to apply.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you upload. You grant Lectella a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and process that content for the purpose of operating, securing and improving the platform. You are responsible for the content you upload and for the rights to use it.

12. Safety and reporting

If something feels wrong, report it. Use the Report a Profile flow inside Lectella, or write to support@lectella.com. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. In the United States, dial 911.

13. Disclaimers

Lectella is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant the conduct of any member.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to Lectella will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars. Lectella will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or for the conduct of other members.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, except where another law applies by mandatory consumer protection rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be handled in the courts with proper jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer right under applicable law.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice.
