Terms of Service

1. About Lectella

Lectella is a meeting-first membership platform for adults in New York. Lectella provides software, profiles, messaging and curation. Lectella does not arrange meetings, does not introduce specific people, and does not guarantee replies, meetings, dates, relationships, intimacy or any other outcome.

2. Who can use Lectella

Lectella is for adults aged 21 or older. By using Lectella, you confirm that you are at least 21, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you are using Lectella for genuine social purposes.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account, your password and the activity that takes place under your account. You agree to keep your information current, to use your real identity, and to upload current photographs of yourself. Sharing your account with anyone else is not permitted.

4. Membership and payment

Membership is $59 per month, billed monthly. A basic tier with core features is available at no cost. Payments are processed by Stripe. Lectella does not store your card details.

5. Auto-renewal and cancellation

Your subscription renews automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account settings. After cancellation, your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months except where required by law, including the New York three-business-day cancellation right described in our Subscription and Cancellation Policy.

6. No guarantee of outcomes

Lectella is a platform. Whether you receive replies, meet anyone, or form any kind of connection depends on you and on other members. We do not guarantee, and cannot guarantee, any social or romantic outcome.

7. Your responsibility for meetings

You decide whether to communicate with another member, whether to meet in person, where to meet, and how to behave during any meeting. You are solely responsible for your interactions and for your safety. We strongly encourage you to read our Safety page before meeting anyone.

8. Prohibited conduct

To keep Lectella safe and lawful, you agree not to use the platform for any of the following:

• Commercial sexual activity of any kind, including escorting, prostitution, sex work, sugar arrangements, paid intimacy, paid companionship and any adult or sexual services.
• Sharing, requesting or soliciting pornographic, sexually explicit or graphic material.
• Asking for or sending money, gifts, loans, cryptocurrency, investments, travel funding or anything of value.
• Scams, fraud, romance scams, phishing, money-mule activity or impersonation.
• Fake profiles, identity misrepresentation, photos that are not of you, or photos that are not current.
• Harassment, abuse, hate speech, threats, stalking or non-consensual sharing of intimate content.
• Any use by anyone under the age of 21.
• Bots, scraping, automated access, data harvesting or commercial exploitation of the service or its members.
• Use of Lectella for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

These prohibitions are absolute. Violations may result in suspension or permanent termination without refund.

9. Moderation

We may review profiles, photos and messages, in line with our Privacy Policy. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate any account that we believe violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We are not obliged to publish or carry any content.

10. Suspension, termination and refunds

If your account is suspended or terminated for a material violation of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, you are not entitled to a refund. The New York three-business-day cancellation right and any other right required by law continues to apply.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you upload. You grant Lectella a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and process that content for the purpose of operating, securing and improving the platform. You are responsible for the content you upload and for the rights to use it.

12. Safety and reporting

If something feels wrong, report it. Use the Report a Profile flow inside Lectella, or write to support@lectella.com. In an emergency, contact local emergency services. In the United States, dial 911.

13. Disclaimers

Lectella is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant the conduct of any member.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to Lectella will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars. Lectella will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or for the conduct of other members.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, except where another law applies by mandatory consumer protection rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be handled in the courts with proper jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer right under applicable law.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice.
